We use a variety of third party vendors and service providers to provide operational services and support for the Service, including collecting, storing and using User information on our behalf, as well as to approve, process and fulfill your transactions for the Service.
Notice To California Residents - Your California Privacy Rights:
If you are a California resident, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits you to request information regarding the disclosure of your personal information by Univision to third parties for the third parties' direct marketing purposes within the immediately preceding calendar year. Univision will provide you with a list of the categories of personal information disclosed and a list of the names and addresses of the third parties. To make such a request, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
2. Types of Information We Collect
2.1 Personally Identifiable Information ("PII"). This is information that can identify or is linked to a specific User. When you create an account, register for certain services, access various content or features, register for promotions, or directly contact the Service (collectively, "Identification Activities" and each, an "Identification Activity"), we may ask you to provide certain PII about yourself. It is optional for you to engage in an Identification Activity. If you elect to engage in an Identification Activity, however, we may ask you to provide us with certain PII, such as your first and last name, mailing address (including zip code), email address, telephone number, date of birth, gender, and credit and debit card numbers. Depending on the activity, some of the information we ask you to provide is identified as mandatory and some is identified as voluntary. If you do not provide the mandatory information for a particular activity that requires it, you will not be permitted to engage in that activity.
In addition, please note that if you use our Service to send information about a product or service to another person (e.g., a friend, a family member, etc.), we will also collect PII of that other person to the extent disclosed by you and may contact them via email or SMS.
2.2 Aggregate and Anonymous Information ("AAI"). This is any information that cannot identify or be linked to a specific User. For example, we may collect anonymous group data (demographics, interests and preferences, etc.) about our Users. We also collect aggregate traffic data pertaining to our Service. Moreover, we may combine "User Activity Information" (as defined in Section 2.3 below) about our Users to generate aggregate information that reflects activities, habits, preferences, interests, etc. about our Users as a group. In addition, we may take PII and make it non-personally identifiable, such as by aggregating your information with information about other individuals, or by removing personally-identifiable elements (such as names) so as to "anonymize" or "de-personalize" your information.
We do not collect personal information about your online activities over time and across third party websites or online services. Therefore, "do not track" signals transmitted from web browsers do not apply to our sites, and we do not alter any of our data collection and use practices upon receipt of such a signal.
If and to the extent we use any UAI in a manner that identifies a specific user individually (e.g., if we link or associate such information with a user's name or address), it will be treated as PII. Otherwise, all UAI will be treated as AAI.
3. What We Do With the Information
We may also use your PII for direct marketing and advertising purposes. For example, we may send you emails or direct mail regarding products and services, special offers, promotions, etc.
4. Sharing of Information with Others
4.1 We may share PII with our Affiliates (as defined below). We may share PII with our Affiliates so that they can market and advertise products and services directly to our Users. As used herein, "our Affiliates" means any and all of our corporate affiliates (whether existing now or in the future), including (but not limited to) Univision Communications Inc., The Univision Network Limited Partnership, Univision Television Group, Inc., Univision Interactive Media, Inc., UniMás Television Group, Inc., UniMás Network, Galavision, Inc., Univision Management Co., Univision of Puerto Rico, Inc., Univision Radio, Inc., Univision ABC News Network, LLC, Made-for-Web, LLC, El Rey Holdings LLC, Uni-Rey Services, LLC and Univision Networks & Studios, Inc., and Univision Financial Marketing, LLC.
4.2 We may share PII with Business Partners (as defined below). We may share PII with and/or receive PII from third parties with whom we and/or our Affiliates do business (collectively "Business Partners") so that we and/or our Business Partners can market and advertise products and services directly to our Users.
4.3 We may share PII with Third Party Service Providers. We use third parties to perform services and functions on our behalf in connection with the Service, such as administering contests or sweepstakes, data storage and security, data research and analysis, providing marketing assistance, providing search results and links, providing technical support and maintenance for the Service, troubleshooting, and providing customer service (collectively "Third Party Service Providers"). We may share PII with Third Party Service Providers who need to access such information in order to perform services and functions on our behalf in connection with the Service.
Generally, we require that Third Party Service Providers use our Users' PII only for the purposes of performing services and functions on our behalf in connection with the Service and that they maintain the confidentiality, security and integrity of such information and not further disclose the information to others. The Third Party Service Providers have no independent rights in your PII.
5. Updating and Correcting Information
You can access and update your name, password, billing address, and payment method in the "My Account" section of the Service. We encourage you to promptly update your PII if it changes.
After you terminate your account, you may ask to have the information on your account deleted or removed by contacting us at email@example.com; however, because we keep track of past financial transactions, we cannot delete information associated with past financial transactions on the Service. In addition, it may be impossible for us to completely delete all of your information because we periodically backup information.
6. User Choices on Collection and Use of Information
Whether to provide PII is your choice, but you understand and acknowledge that without providing PII, you will not be able to engage in an Identification Activity on the Service.
Users cannot opt-out of Transactional/Administrative Communications. However, Users do have a choice with respect to Promotional Communications. If you do not want to receive Promotional Communications from us, you may elect to opt-out of receiving Promotional Communications at any time after registering by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org or by using the opt-out means (e.g., an "unsubscribe" link) provided in a Promotional Communication that you have received via email from us. Also, you can opt out of our marketing uses of your PII as well as our sharing of your PII with our Affiliates and Business Partners for their marketing uses, by sending your request via email to us at email@example.com. When contacting us, please indicate your name, address, email address, and that you want us to stop further use and sharing of your PII for marketing purposes. We will endeavor to honor your request as quickly as practicable. Your opt out election, once processed by us, will stop, on a going-forward basis, all further marketing uses and sharing of your PII by us.
Your opt-out will NOT stop continued marketing uses of your information by those of our Affiliates and Business Partners with whom we have already shared your information prior to your opt-out. To opt out of their further use of your information, you must contact them directly (or use the opt-out means provided by them). Also, if you participate in an event or a product/service offering that is co-sponsored by us with one or more third parties, you must contact our co-sponsor(s) directly in order to opt out of their use of your information for marketing purposes.
7. Use of Social Network Account Data
The Service may allow you sign into and associate your social network accounts including, but not limited to, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and Pinterest with Univision.
We do not retain your username or password for social networking platforms for any longer than is necessary to complete an interaction. If you would like to disconnect a social media account from the Service, refer to the settings of that social media account and its provider.
8. Security of Information
We take security seriously and take numerous precautions to protect the security of PII. You can access your PII on our Service through a user name and password (if you are a registered member of our Service). This password is encrypted. We recommend that you do not share your password with anyone. In addition, your PII resides on a secure server that only selected personnel and contractors have access to. We encrypt certain sensitive information using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to protect your PII as it is transmitted to us.
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or any wireless network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we employ commercially reasonable security measures to protect data and seek to partner with companies, which do the same, we cannot guarantee the security of any information transmitted to or from the Service, and are not responsible for the actions of any third parties that may receive any such information.
By providing your email address to us on the Service, you acknowledge and agree that we may notify you by email in the event of a breach of security involving your PII stored by or for us.
9. Data Tracking
You can set your browser to notify you when you are sent a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether or not to accept it, or you can choose to routinely and manually delete the cookies stored in your computer. If you choose to disable or reject cookies, you may still enter our Service, but you may not have full access to all areas within our Service. 9.2 Other Tracking Devices. We may use other industry standard technologies like pixel tags and web beacons to track your use of the Service, or we may allow our Third Party Service Providers to use these devices on our behalf. Pixel tags and web beacons are tiny graphic images placed on certain pages on our Service, or in our emails that allow us to determine whether you have performed a specific action. When you access these pages or open or click an email, pixel tags and web beacons generate a Non-Personally Identifiable notice of that action. Pixel tags allow us to measure and improve our understanding of visitor traffic and behavior on our Service, as well as give us a way to measure our promotions and performance. We may also utilize pixel tags and web beacons provided by others for the same purposes.
9.4 Third Party Functionalities. Our Service contains links to and/or enables certain third-party functionalities to enhance your experience on our Service, including social plug-ins, tools and APIs. Prior to using any third-party functionalities (e.g., Facebook "Like" button) on our Service, you should consult the privacy notices of the third-party providers of such functionalities (e.g., Facebook), as we have no control over information that is submitted to, or collected by, such third parties, or how they may use the information. The privacy policies and data practices of such third parties may significantly differ from ours, and we make no representation or warranty whatsoever about their policies and practices. Your communications and interactions with such third parties are solely between you and them, and are at your own risk.
9.5 Flash Cookies. From time to time, we may use Flash cookies or similar technology for tracking purposes, saving preferences or when serving and managing ads on our Service. 10. Privacy Policies of Third Party Websites
11.1 Children. Children's safety is important to us, and we encourage parents and guardians to take an active interest in the online activities of their children. Our Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
